Design and build
Once the final design has been approved the next step is to agree a start date. The drawing below shows a block with three stable units and adjoining hay barn. This is a fantastic design with a side screen to offer cross wind protection.
After some minor changes the client gave us our instruction to commence building. The foundation concrete slab had been provided by others so we had a solid base to start building. The perimeter walls were housed on a single course of bricks. Due to the size of the build all the frame work was constructed on site. and once erected we could begin installing the roof trusses and external cladding.
Sadly, we couldn't rely on good weather throughout the build so today was a little wet but luckily the roof is nearly completed. Over the next couple of days the remaining cladding will be installed, the external guttering will be fitted and all the stable doors fitted and aligned. Hopefully the weather will be a little kinder.
We will post some pics once the build is completed which hopefully will be the end of this week, in time for Christmas.
